Plant Construction

While the previous contract with BASF for a MEISSNER Dinitrotoluene plant at Yeosu plant site in South Korea still was under execution, MEISSNER already concluded the next contract with BASF for a DNT plant again based on leading MEISSNER technology.

The new plant of extraordinary capacity was built for the German-Chinese joint venture Shanghai BASF Polyurethane Company (SBPC) at Caojing plant site near Shanghai in the P.R. China.

The plant also covers state-of-the-art units for acid processing and NOx absorption supplied by MEISSNER’s subcontractor QVF Engineering, Mainz/Germany.

MEISSNER and QVF had to respond to an extremely tight time schedule for project implementation. With the contract only signed in mid-January 2003 and the start of detail engineering already scheduled for mid-2003, a smooth project execution and on-time delivery could only be ensured by a close and extensive co-operation with the customer.
