In October 2008, the extension of a plant for the production of Urea-Formaldehyde Precondensate (UFC) was successfully commissioned. The UFC plant is part of an integrated plant complex of Heliopolis Co. for Chemical Industries in Cairo, Egypt, for the production of Formaldehyde, Hexamethylenetetramine and Urea-Formaldehyde Precondensate.

In a first stage, the plants for the production of Formaldehyde and Hexamethylenetetramine were implemented in 1997 by MEISSNER in the form of an integrated plant. In 1999, the extension of the plant complex by a UFC production plant was executed by MEISSNER. With the new extension of the UFC plant, the plant complex now has a doubled capacity for this product.

The integrated plant complex is characterized by its particular flexibility, enabling the individual products to be manufactured in parallel or single operation and with a capacity matching the actual market demands at any time.
